Business Experience: Michael is an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) of American Portfolios Advisors, Inc where he provides comprehensive planning, investment management, and estate planning services to individuals, business owners, corporate executives, and professionals. Michael started his professional career at Bear Stearns & Co., a global investment bank and securities trading firm based in New York City. He started as an Associate in the Options Trading Department and later worked on the Institutional Fixed Income Trading Desk. Michael then utilized his Wall Street background to start a career as a financial advisor with AXA Financial.

Professional Designations: Michael earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification in 2008.

The CFP® designation is a professional certification granted in the US by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. This designation requires completion of an advanced college-level course of study addressing the financial planning subject areas that CFP Board’s studies have determined as necessary for the competent and professional delivery of financial planning services, and designees must attain a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university (or its equivalent from a foreign university). CFP Board’s financial planning subject areas include insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. In addition to successful completion of a comprehensive Certification Examination administered in 10 hours over a two-day period, candidates must have at least three years of full-time financial planning related experience and agree to be bound by CFP Board’s Standard of Professional Conduct. The designation requires 30 hours of continuing education every two years.
